1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on this website, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
UK Higher Education Advisory is a trading name of EDUREF LTD (Company No. 17337164), registered in England and Wales, with registered office at 118 Alwold Crescent, London, SE12 9AH.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies can be set by the site you are visiting (first party) or by another organisation whose content or tags the site loads (third party). Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in comparable ways.
3. Your choice, and what happens before you make it
When you first arrive we show you a banner with three options: accept all, reject all, or manage your preferences. Until you make a choice, no non-essential cookie is set and no marketing tag is loaded. Rejecting is a single click, exactly like accepting.
You can change your choice whenever you like using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. We ask again after six months, and sooner if we materially change the cookies we use.
4. The categories we use
- Strictly necessary: Needed for the website to function, including remembering your cookie choice. These do not require consent and cannot be switched off, because the site cannot work without them
- Marketing: Used to measure our advertising and to show relevant adverts. These are off unless you turn them on
We do not currently set any analytics or functional cookies. We run no website analytics product — no Google Analytics, Tag Manager, or comparable tool — so there is no analytics category to choose. If that changes we will add the category, update this policy, and ask you again.

6. Withdrawing consent to marketing cookies
If you turn marketing cookies off after having turned them on, we stop loading the Meta pixel, delete the Meta cookies we are able to reach, and reload the page so no further events are sent.
We should be straightforward about the limits of that: we cannot retract information already sent to Meta, and any cookie Meta has set on its own domain remains until you clear it in your browser. Section 8 explains how.
7. Third-party services that are not cookies
Some services do not set cookies but still receive information about you, in particular your IP address, simply because your browser has to contact them.
- Google Fonts: Our typefaces are loaded from Google's font servers, which receive your IP address when a page loads. No cookie is set
- Databeam: Our enquiry platform. It receives the details you type into a form, but only when you submit one
- Hostinger: Our hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses
8. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also control cookies in your browser settings, independently of the choice you make here. Most browsers let you see what is stored, delete it, and block cookies for a particular site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site working — including our ability to remember that you asked us not to track you.
Look for "Cookies and site data" under Privacy in Chrome or Edge, "Cookies and Site Data" in Firefox, or "Privacy" in Safari. The ICO also publishes plain-English guidance on cookies at ico.org.uk.
